At the completion of the 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials women's hammer throw opening round on Thursday in Eugene, Ore., recent University of Wyoming graduate, Kate Burton was on the outside looking in.

Kate Burton, of the University of Wyoming track and field team, will be traveling this week to Eugene, Ore., to compete in the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials on Thursday, July 3rd, at 8 p.m. (M.T.) in the hammer throw.

Kate just completed her senior season at UW at the NCAA Championships with a tenth place finish.

The ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District team is a part of the Academic All-America program.

Fifty-one Mountain West Conference student-athletes and five MWC relay teams have been named to their respective All-Region teams, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced yesterday. The University of Wyoming had four members named to the All-Region team.

The University of Wyoming Track and Field team will take to the Mountain West Conference Outdoor Championships starting Wednesday, May 14 and continuing through Saturday, May 17 in Fort Worth, Texas, hosted by TCU.

Competition will begin Wednesday at high noon with the heptathlon and decathlon events.
